Today, October 17, 2020, I am publishing a rough draft of the Yale School of Architecture Class of 1970 website. It is incomplete and only a few pages are active. But there is more than enough to entertain you for a weekend!
Why publish today? This weekend was the time we were to hold our 50th Reunion in Vermont. The coronavirus pandemic forced the cancellation of the reunion until such time as it is safe to do so. The pandemic also forced the video interviews to be held over Zoom. I was only able to do four classmates in person (including myself).
I asked each classmates the following three questions:
How did Yale change or influence your life?
What is the one thing about your legacy that you want people to remember?
In the next ten years, what are you longing to do?
I have uploaded the videos for the first question for the following classmates:
Jerry Wagner
Dick Barrett
Bob Shannon
Budge Upton
Ron Filson
In addition, there is one extra video from Ron Filson: his account of meeting and working for Donald Trump! It is titled DA DEAN DISTILLS DA DONALD. Given that the election is only two weeks away I urge you to view that video first.
Each classmate has a webpage, but only the ones listed above are active today. The others are placeholders derived from templates for a fictitious video production company. In the next days and weeks and months I will be adding more content, until the website is complete. And for that I will need your help.
I want to thank my friend Ivy Gordon for giving me the idea for this project. Ivy furnished the three key questions, and she in fact completed a similar project for her own leadership class at Pepperdine University.
