John had been working in an architectural office and was nearly licensed when he was admitted to Yale Architecture School. For John, Yale was like recess. He enjoyed taking undergraduate courses and becoming a freshman counselor, the beginning of his role as a mentor to younger architects.

John says his legacy is being known as a competent, skilled architect with happy clients, including many universities. He is also proud of contributions to his community, specially the revitalization of Commonwealth Avenue and Boston's Back Bay.
