Jim says his legacy is his family and the houses he designed with Sandy (to live in) as well as the houses he designed with his partners. He is glad he did not end up working for a large firm nor did he get into corporate architecture.

Jim points out that he is about ten years older than most of his architecture school classmates and, therefore, has already lived our next ten years. For his own next ten, Jim would like to reach 100 total sketchbooks—he already donated 65 sketchbooks to the Boston Atheneum. And he would like to finish and publish his paper, [HH] Richardson and Harvard.
