The 1968 Las Vegas Studio Revisited

Left:

Denise Scott-Brown in Las Vegas 1968

The 1968 Las Vegas Studio, led by Robert Venturi, Denise-Scott Brown, and Steven Izenour, was a history-making class. It produced the ground-breaking book Learning From Las Vegas and our two Rome Prize winners, Ron Filson and Dan Scully.

The A&A Building Fire

In this slide show the interior shot is by Bob Knight and the exterior shots are by Jim Righter.

Below are two PDF documents. One is the stories of the A&A fire told by Peter Woerner and Torch Knight. The other is a piece called The Building That Won't Go Away by Mark Alden Branch, published in the Yale Alumni Magazine.

The Party at Kranz's

John Kranz and Lori Gladstone owned a house at 76 East Pearl Street with many bedrooms. Roc Caivano and Alberto Lau rented rooms from John and Lori. In 1968 we held a big party and set up a photo studio in one of the empty bedrooms. These portraits are a small selection of the dozens taken that evening. More will be added later.

Yale Arch School Dada Flick 1969

15m 16s   |   1969   |  Producer  Director : The Guys in the Flick

A 1969 Dadaesque silent film made by members of the class of 1970 at the Yale School of Architecture, featuring a train and a fish. The deteriorated condition of the VHS tape adds to the, err, artistic quality of the production. Starring Jim Righter (who never breaks character, whatever it was), Sandy Righter, Peter Woerner, Andy Burr, Roc Caivano, Tom Dryer, Jerry Wagner, George Hathorn, and others. Recommended for very indulgent audiences only. Soundtrack added in 2021.
