While the film tells the story of Holocaust survivor Max Garcia (and his liberator Robert Persinger) the real subject of the documentary is how trauma is transmitted between generations.

Love in the Time of Coronavirus

This is the story of how we managed to date and fall in love during the year of the pandemic. We began dating just before COVID-19 shut everything down. The usual dating venues were closed: no movies, no restaurants, no theaters, no museums, no travel. But  we figured out a way to continue dating and building a relationship. The key was bicycling, walkie-talkie helmets, picnics, photography, and birds!
